Leave A Little Sparkle With Brenda Walton’s Favorite Things

Hi Everyone!   Jan here today, sharing a layout featuring dies and an embossing folder from Brenda Walton's new release, "Favorite Things".

There's so many cute pieces to this Whimsy & Delight Thinlits set, it was hard to decide what I was going to use!  I love this bicycle, so that was my first choice.  To die-cut my papers with my chosen Thinlits in my Big Shot, I used the following Sizzix sandwich for Wafer Thin Dies; Standard Magnetic Platform, Standard Cutting Pad, paper, Thinlits die (cutting side facing down), Standard Cutting pad.  I die-cut two of the bicycle and butterfly for extra dimension.  The top bicycle piece was pop dotted on top of the bottom piece.   Adhesive was applied just in the center of the top butterfly piece and placed on top of the bottom one.  The wings were bent up slightly.

I also die-cut my flowers, leaves, zigzag borders from Brenda Walton's Secret Garden Thinlits set.  There are 18 pieces in this set, so there's lots of sizes and varieties for layering.  These were also die-cut using the Sizzix sandwich for Wafter Thin dies.

I used the Brenda Walton Party Time Dots Embossing Folder to emboss this piece of cardstock.  It actually was the backing in my chipboard embellishment package that I used for my layout.  I really liked it and decided to use it.  After embossing, I sanded the raised areas and then inked them in pink.

Now you're ready to assemble your layout.  I used BoBunny's "You're Invited" paper collection.  I adhered my embossed card, a cut out piece of journaling paper, and my matted photo,

Once those main pieces are adhered, the die-cut embellishments can be added.  I hand cut flowers from my patterned paper and added them to the bicycle basket.  There are a couple of chipboard dimensional pieces from my paper collection, which I also added in some die-cuts (heart, tag).

I layered my flowers with various die-cuts, some of them pop dotted for added dimension.  There's also a few hand cut flowers from my patterned paper.

The birds, butterflies, and zigzag die-cuts were added, some of those were cut shorter.  To finish off my layout, I added a few buttons, and some sparkle with Ranger's Mercury Glass Stickles.

Here's another look at my finished layout!  Hope you enjoyed my tutorial!

Thanks for stopping by,
