Coaster & Caddy Set

Project #12760
12760

It's amazing what you can do with some Fresh Vintage Dies and Ink-Its Letterpress Plates. It's even more amazing when you think how easy it is to create this lovely gift in just a few simple steps.

Other Supplies: Cardstock; Patterned Paper; Button; Circle Cutter; Extra-strong bond, double-sided tape; Paper Measuring Tape; Pigment Inks; Ribbon; String; Ticket, Watermark Ink

Cover a piece of mat board with patterned paper. Die-cut Bag, Caddy out of the covered mat board. Fold along the score lines and assemble using extra-strong bond, double-sided tape. Apply clear watermark ink the Vintage Lace letterpress plate. Apply yellow pigment ink to the same letterpress plate, carefully place cardstock on top of the plate and deboss using your Big Shot, BIGkick or Vagabond machine. Remove the debossed paper and set aside to dry. Trim the design to size and adhere to the front side of the Caddy. Embellish with a paper measuring tape, ticket, button and string. Die-cut a 3-D Flower out of cardstock, assemble and attach to the top of the Caddy. Embellish with ribbon and string. Apply clear watermark ink to the flower corner of the Rustic Elegant Flowers letterpress plate. Apply blue pigment ink to the same area of the letterpress plate, carefully place a piece of cardstock on top of the plate and deboss using your Big Shot, BIGkick or Vagabond machine. Remove the debossed paper and set aside to dry. Trim around the design and attach to the top of the Caddy. Apply clear watermark ink to the bird corner of the Rustic Elegant Flowers letterpress plate. Apply red pigment ink to the same area of the letterpress plate, carefully place a piece of cardstock on top of the plate and deboss using your Big Shot, BIGkick or Vagabond machine. Remove the debossed paper and set aside to dry. Trim around the design using a circle cutter. Mat on larger cardstock and cut again using a circle cutter to create a coaster. Create as many coasters as desired and place in Caddy for storage.

If using regular cardstock with the Ink-its letterpress plate and not getting the impression you desire, place a thin piece of craft foam between the top cutting pad and your paper. Use pigment ink layered over clear watermark ink and medium weight (or heavier) watercolor paper - 100 lbs or more - for best results.
