Notes:

  • Finished Size: 12 1/2" x 12 1/2"
  • All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
  • Fat 1/4 = approximately 18" x 21"
  • * = Adhere Phoomph adhesive to back of fabric before die-cutting the shapes.
  • WOF = width of fabric

Assembling the Project:

  1. Use one 13 1/2" Square for the front of the pillow and one for the back. Set aside back for now.
  2. Center bottle cap print in the middle of the pillow front.
  3. Place the black Courtyard shapes on top of bottle cap print, two across by five down, as shown in image above.
  4. Layer the batting and pillow top. Topstitch through the Courtyard shapes, as shown in image above.

Finishing:

  1. Sew the binding Strips together to form one long Strip. Fold the binding in half lengthwise, with wrong sides together and press.
  2. With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the pillow top. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the pillow and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners, leaving an opening approximately 6" long to insert polyester stuffing.
  3. Clip excess fabric in the corners on the diagonal. Turn right-side out, stuff pillow to desired loft and hand stitch closed.
