  • All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted, and always lock in stitches at the beginning and the end to prevent unraveling.
  • Fat 1/8 = approximately 9" x 22"
  • Fat 1/4 = approximately 18" x 21"

Assembling the T-shirt (Illustrations not provided):

  1. Determining the length of the sleeve you want, fold the edge of the sleeve and topstitch the hem.
  2. Fold the sleeve in half, right sides together, and sew the straight edge. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for other sleeve and turn both sleeves right side out.
  3. Cut two bodice pieces (both cut on the fold) right sides together by sewing both of the top shoulders and both side edges.
  4. Place each sleeve into the T-shirt arm holes. Pin each sleeve seam to the armpit seams and line up the folds on the top center of the sleeve to the T-shirt shoulder seams and sew together.
  5. Roll and topstitch the neck opening.

Assembling the Reversible Tunic/Dress:

  1. With the outer bodice piece right side up, place and sew a small tab right side down on each shoulder (Fig. 1). Flip the tabs up and press seam open.
  2. Place the other outer bodice piece right side down on top and sew both side seams (Fig. 2 top).
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the lining fabrics.
  4. Turn the lining pieces right side out and put them up inside the outer pieces (Fig. 2 lower) so right sides are together.
  5. Line up the tabs and shoulders as well as both side seams (Fig. 3) to stitch all the way up and around the front shoulders along the top edge of the dress.
  6. Turn the dress around and continue sewing around the top back edge and tabs (Fig. 4). (TIP: When sewing the tabs, narrow your seam allowance to 1/8", or they will be difficult to turn right side out.)
  7. Separate the lining from the outer and turn the dress right sides out. Gently push the tabs and shoulders out and press flat.
  8. Topstitch all the way around the top edge of the dress (Fig. 5).
  9. Turn the bottom edge of the dress outer fabric and the bottom edge of the lining fabric inward. Topstitch around the bottom edge.
  10. Use buttons, hook-and-loop tape or snaps on the dress tabs.
  11. (TIP: To lengthen the dress, follow the curve of the bodice panel and add length before sewing the front and back together in Step 2. To add a ruffle, add it to the hem before Step 9.)

Assembling the Underwear:

  1. Place two pieces right sides together and sew the bottom center seam together (Fig. 6).
  2. Open up both halves to sew the flat edge of elastic along the top raw edges of both sides on the right side of fabric, as well as the curved leg opening edge on both sides (Fig. 7).
  3. Flip up (or out) the ruffled edge of the elastic and topstitch to secure the elastic.
  4. Fold the two halves right sides together to sew the left and right side seams (Fig. 8).

Assembling the Diaper:

  1. Sew two large tabs right sides together. Notch around the corner and curves. Turn right side out and topstitch. Make two tabs (Fig. 9).
  2. Sew a small piece of hook-and-loop tape to each tab.
  3. Place two outer pieces right sides together and sew the bottom center seam together as done for the Underwear Step 1 (Fig. 6). Repeat for the lining.
  4. Open up both halves of the outer piece to pin the tabs to the top half so the hook-and-loop tape is showing, one centered on each side. On the opposite half, sew the other hook-and-loop tape pieces (Fig. 10).
  5. Place the lining piece right side down on top of the outer piece. Beginning on one side of the bottom edge, sew all the way around to the other side. Leave a 1" - 2" opening for turning (Fig. 11).
  6. Turn right side out and topstitch all the way around to close opening (Fig. 12).
  7. Fold Diaper in half and place tabs on front hook-and-loop tape to secure (Fig. 13).
