Piecing the Quilt:

  1. Using the photo as a guide, lay out the scene on a design wall or the floor. Heat fuse in place with an iron. Stitch around the shapes as desired.
  2. Sew the assorted beads by hand around the scene.
  3. Sew a 1 1/2" x 28 1/2" red strip to each side of the quilt.
  4. Sew a 1 1/2" x 39 1/2" red strip on the top and bottom of the quilt.
  5. Sew a 3 1/2" x 30" blue floral flannel strip on the top and bottom of the quilt.
  6. Sew a 3 1/2" x 45" blue floral flannel strip to each side of the quilt.

  1. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine as desired.
  2. Sew binding strips together to form one long strip. Fold wrong sides together lengthwise and press.
  3. With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt, and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
