Assembling the Project:

  1. Lay the Ovals in succeeding sizes on top of each other on the blue Squares.
  2. Arrange the 1/2" Strips under the Ovals to the bottom of the blue Square.
  3. Arrange the leaves on top of the stems. Make sure to place the leaves more than 1/4" from the bottom due to the seam allowance.
  4. Heat fuse the shapes in place on the 6 1/2" blue Squares with an iron.
  5. Sew a 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" brown Rectangle to the bottom of a 6 1/2" blue Square, creating three 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" rectangles.
  6. Sew the 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" rectangles together. Press the seams.

  1. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine as desired.
  2. Sew the binding Strips together to form one long Strip. Fold wrong sides together lengthwise, and press.
  3. With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt, and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
