Notes:

  • Finished Size: 34 1/2" x 42 1/2"
  • All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.

Piecing the Quilt:

  1. Arrange a Crown and a set of Crown Embellishments on top of an 8 1/2" white-on-white Square. Place a Fleur de Lis on top of a 5" white-on-white Square.
  2. When satisfied with the arrangement, heat fuse in place with an iron and stitch around shapes as desired.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make five more Crown blocks and three more Fleur de Lis blocks.
  4. Arrange the 8 1/2" princess print and Crown Squares in a pleasing manner, 3 across by 4 down.
  5. Sew 3 blocks together to form a row. Repeat to form 3 more rows.
  6. Sew the 4 rows together to form the quilt center.
  7. Sew the 1 1/2" hot pink border Strips to the sides of the quilt center first, then sew the top and bottom border Strips.
  8. Sew the 5" stripe border Strips to the sides of the quilt first. Sew the Fleur de Lis blocks to each end of the 5" stripe top and bottom borders, then sew the top and bottom border Strips.

Finishing:

  1. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine, as desired.
  2. Sew binding strips together to form one long strip. Fold wrong sides together, lengthwise, and press.
  3. With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
