Yawn, stretch, look over at your clock, phone, time-telling device, and happiness is a pillow snuggle away. We gained an hour! We can sleep more without feeling guilty! We can lounge in our pj's, sipping on our cup of coffee, scrolling through our phone or tablet without the stress of thinking we have to be somewhere or doing something. Ah. Yes. This...this is bliss. But, we do realize there will be some of you out there somewhat at a loss with what to do with your extra hour. Don't worry! We got you covered! Our amazing Design Team has created some super cool crafts and projects that would be good for your "craft bank" for future projects, and a few that might even spur some inspiration for today. Lets check out some crafty fun you can have with that extra hour of yours.
.) For this card, Mou Saha tackled this project trying to create a card that was themed towards both men and boys. As we all know designing and creating cards for the males in our lives can be somewhat challenging, Mou was able to beautifully create this card using Stephanie Barnard's Kind Sentiments Step Up Cards with the Hot Air Balloon Triplits. The color combos, and the over all use of supplies left Mou victorious in her quest to make a card for both men and boys. Absolutely awesome.
.) In honor of November being National Novel Writing Month, Adrianne Surian made these adorable typewriter magnets using the Vintage Typewriter Bigz Die and a variety of different colors of cardstock. Super quick and lots of fun, this project is perfect for the writer, or aspiring writer in your life.
.) Getting in the Halloween spirit was a common theme for many of our Sizzix Design Team members, and Michelle Stewart took this to a whole other level with doing some Halloween party planning tutorials. On of our favorite party favors she created was this black cat treat box. Using the Hocus Pocus Bigz die and store bought milk cartons, Michelle quickly created adorable party favors perfect for any Halloween party.
.) We thought this was pretty cool. Jessica Roe came up with this Killer Halloween party favor idea for her boy's to take to share with their classmates at school. Using the Movers & Shapers Coffin die, she created the perfect candy container and topped them off with some spooky skeletons and a pretty cool printable tag. We bet her boys and classmates were thrilled with these Halloween candy box treats!
.) Nothing brings a fun twist to a Halloween party like some fresh witches brew to drink! Laura Russell came up with this freaky green idea by collecting milk bottles, making some yummy lemon-lime koolaid and using self adhesive vinyl with the Hocus Pocus die for the witches hat. Love this!
.) Hilary Kanswicher loves making ornaments, and with Tim Holtz's new embossing folders, Zig Zag and Batground, she just had to make some ornament goodness for Halloween this year. For crafting clay lovers like Hilary, this DIY is perfect for Halloween every year.
.) Oh how we love this spooky popcorn box! Michelle Stewart hit this craft out of the ball park. She used the Rickety House Bigz die, the Ghosts Bigz die, and Handwritten Halloween thinlits to help create this amazing popcorn container. If only all popcorn boxes were this cool.
.) We loved this project by Audrey Pettit. She perfectly used left over scraps from other projects to create these cutely creepy jack-o-lantern treat bag tags. Using the Tags & Tie Movers & Shapers die and the Cobwebs Texture Fade folder, Audrey created her tag and used her saved scraps from a previous project she had used the Jack-o-Lanterns Bigz die. Quick, fun, and perfectly Halloweeny.
.) Everyone fell in love with Tim Holtz's new Village Dwelling, but Jessica Roe took it to a whole new level of awesome by turning it into a haunted church treat box by adding a Bell Tower and putting some delicious looking cookies inside. This is what we love about crafting, the out of the box ideas that turn crafts into absolutely awesome masterpieces!
.) Tara Mihalech was all about the holiday decorations for winter, from the flannel, to the reindeer, to the warm drinks that come with it. She created some elegant home decor pieces using embroidery hoops, scrap material and the Reindeer Bigz die along with the Stacked Snowflake Bigz die. (The Reindeer with Antlers has unfortunately been discontinued.) We love the holiday charm this brings to her wall, and absolutely adore the color combinations she chose for this project. It makes us ready to start decorating for the holidays right now!
We hope you enjoyed these fun and quick crafting ideas from our Design Team! Though we are sad that the Halloween crafting is over now, we cannot wait for all the new projects and ideas that the winter holidays will bring. We hope you have a wonderful day today, but we need to ask, out of curiosity: How will you be spending that extra hour of yours?
