Hello, Sizzix friends! Vivian here today with a trio of fresh summer cards which feature dies from Stephanie Ackerman's newest collection with Sizzix and highlight a comforting, folksy homemade style.
To start, I die-cut pretty script sentiments from the Circle Words: Love, Hello, Happy & Home Thinlits Set as well as from the Circle Words: Faith, Create, Brave & Joy Thinlits Set. While these make great, clean die-cuts, I'm also really looking forward to making some sentiment stamps with them, too!
To make releasing your die-cuts a breeze, use the Sizzix Accessory Die Brush & Foam Pad.
The Sizzix Sandwich for this big, bold, super happy flower in the Flower #3 Bigz Die is easy. Simply place the die and cardstock between your cutting pads and send it through your Big Shot. What's great about the Bigz dies is you can die-cut so many different things with it. I'm looking forward to die-cutting these fantastic blossoms with felt and making a gorgeous pillow with my die-cuts!
To make sure the style lines of your sentiments don't get lost among patterned papers, simply insert a color coordinated but simpler patterned/solid strip behind it. This is a great way to use up scraps!
My sewing machine has been out on the table because I've been making netted contraptions to protect ripening fruit from critters. So I thought I'd take advantage of the opportunity to play up a homey, handmade look with sewing machine stitching.
The sentiments pop.
And I can still use all the lovely patterned papers I want.
While there's nothing like receiving a handmade card to brighten your day or help you through a rough spot...
It feels pretty awesome to be able to make someone feel a whole lot better with just a little bit of crafty effort. I hope you enjoyed my cards today and that you'll check out Stephanie Ackerman's "Homegrown & Handmade" Collection!
