Makers, if there was ever a time to get excited for an all new Tim Holtz collection, that time is now. We saw these amazing new dies at CHAW 2016 and now, they're finally available on Sizzix.com! With an all new twist to the traditional steampunk trend, Tim has brought us more Gears, more Mixed Media Thinlits, Typography dies, Embossing Folders, and the most Dapper of gentlemen that you will ever be able to create with! We can't wait to inspire you with makes and projects featuring this new Tim Holtz collection.
We're literally gearing up for the most epic steampunk collection from Tim yet! Kicking off this glorious line is the new Gearhead Thinlits die set, giving you a 22 piece set full of gears of all different shapes, sizes and looks! We cannot get over how fantasitcally this set goes along with Tim's original Gadget Gears and new Gadget Gears #2 die sets! This Lost & Found Canvas by Vicki Evans beautifully uses the new Gearhead dies, combining a them in a fantastic vintage background and then adding color to them as the main embellishment pieces.
For the lovers of Tim's Mixed Media and Mixed Media #2 Thinlits, just wait until you get your hands on his Mixed Media #3 Thinlits die set! This 3 pack of dies gives you so many more options for die-cutting, embossing, and stenciling, with a die that has the look and feel of a brick wall, a die with a Tim-twist to the classic typewriter font, and third die that resembles mosaic pieces. Our Art Department used the Mixed Media #3 die on this Happy Birthday tag, and the brick background could not be more realistic! We absolutely love this third addition to Tim's Mixed Media Thinlits!
Tim thought of everything with this new collection, right down to the numbers! Tim's new Stencil Numbers Thinlits set is reminiscent of the vintage grandfather clock numbers, varying in sizes and perfect for adding to cards, mixed media projects and scrapbook pages! This fantastic, colorful Good Heart Scrapbook Page by Mou Saha gorgeously captures one of the many ways you can incorporate these new dies into your next make. We're captivated in awe by this amazing scrapbook page layout!
Adding a hand touched element to your cards and projects is such an important part of creating truly heart touching crafts. Tim's new Stitched Rectangles Thinlit dies beautifully adds that hand touched element to your makes, incorporating the hand stitched pattern into the die-cut itself! When you pair it with Tim's Wild Flowers die and Adventure Words: Script, you can create an awesome Enjoy Wildflowers Card, where beauty is most definitely found in the simplicity of the card design.
This die was by far, one of our favorites that Tim introduced to us at CHAW 2016. Debonair, dignified, and as refined as a gentleman can be, this Dapper die is the die we've been waiting for, complete with a bow tie, mustache and top hat. We absolutely adore how versatile this die is, not only because it's a Bigz die (which means you can use it to die-cut those thicker materials like cardstock, chipboard, fabric, foam, magnet, leather, metallic foil, paper and sandpaper) but because you can choose to use the pieces that the die cuts out in your makes, or use the die with the negative spaces in your projects. With a You're Invited Card like the one our Art Department created using this awesome Dapper die, how could you not accept the invitation to make with it!
Gadget Gears are back this year and we couldn't be more thrilled with the new look to these Gadget Gears #2! Theses dies work seamlessly with Tim's original Gadget Gears Bigz die, enabling for more steampunk makes and fantastic embellishments! We fell in love with this Congratulations Card our Art Department made using these new Gadget Gears #2 dies and new Houndstooth Embossing Folder. This card make is steampunk sublime!
We know we've said Tim thought of everything with this new collection once before, but we can't help ourselves when we say it. He literally thought of everything, including new alphabet dies with Typo- Upper and Typo-Lower. These Bigz dies are typography gold in the world of die-cutting, perfectly resembling the vintage typewriter font and adding a whole new way to add words and sentiments to your makes and projects. Vicki Evans created this gorgeous Your Life Story Card using the Typo-Lower dies, amazingly creating a breathtaking card make.
This collection would not be complete without Embossing Folders and we can't get over how amazing they are! Tim's Herringbone gorgeously lives up to its namesake, offering a uniquely flattering embossing impression. Audrey Pettit did an amazing job capturing the power of this Embossing Folder in her Celebrate Today Canvas, expertly combining Tim's Mosaic die along with his Stitched Ovals die set. When we see a make like this, using new dies by Tim Holtz, we can't help but celebrate!
To complete the embossing power that comes with this awesome collection is Tim's new Tailored Embossing Folder. This Embossing Folder is clean cut, simple, and most definitely, tailored, showing the stitching lines as the embossing pattern. Audrey Pettit showed off the amazingness of Tim's Tailored Embossing Folder with The Unimaginable Card, creating a fantastic yet simple embossed background that can't be ignored when taking the entirety of the card in as a whole.
We are beyond excited to see all of the amazing and awesome makes you all create with this new collection from Tim Holtz! Be sure to hashtag both #timholtz and #sizzix if you share your new makes and projects on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
