Hi crafty friends! It's me, Tara, back with quick piece that is inspired by the mamas-to-be in my life.
Baby showers are such a catalyst for crafting and creating. I love making gifts for the wee babe or new mom. While this box-shaped card could actually stand alone as a big celebration of the new arrival, I decided to have it do double-duty as a gift holder as well for a super sweet Baby Shower Gift.
A little umbrella charm is the perfect memento for a baby shower. Instead of rain showers, she's being "showered with love". The mama-to-be can wear it on a necklace or on her bracelet as a reminder of the people who came out to celebrate her little one's arrival.
I nestled the necklace in the box - created with Lori Whitlock's Card in a Box, A2 Bigz XL die and her Baby Dresser Thinlits set. Because I didn't anticipate folding this card up and putting it in an envelope, I used paper straws to hold the pinwheels.
The bear and onesie die cuts are Core'dinations sand-able cardstock. I gave them a quick once-over with the sanding block to distress them and wear their edges.
The necklace was created with the Vintaj brass umbrella blank and the DecoEtch Daisy Swirl die. I used the reliefing block to sand the entire blank, so that I got a bright brassy colour. I opted to pair it with a bright gold-colour chain, as I wanted the warm yellow hue to be the focus of the charm.
If you're anything like me and love fussing over a wee babe, creating a little gift box full of happiness is a great way to say "Welcome!"
