Hi everybody! This is Melissa Phillips providing you with Sizzix Inspiration today in the form of a super sweet card using a couple of Originals dies from Marisa Pawelko's Sizzix collection called Modern Surrealist.
Card-making is my first love and using Sizzix dies to add extra touches here and there has become so enjoyable. Today I'll show you how I used two fun Sizzix dies to dress up my card.
I love the confetti and vellum trend that is so popular right now and I couldn't wait to use the Sizzix Originals die Mini Envelope by designer Marisa Pawelko to create a vellum envelope filled with tiny sequins. These envelopes are the perfect size for embellishing your cards or adding to a gift tag. I cut my mini envelope from aqua vellum, assembled it using Glossy Accents Liquid Adhesive and then added a few colorful sequins to the inside to resemble confetti. I secured the envelope closed by adhering a chipboard heart topped with an enamel heart.
I created a playful border across the bottom of my card by grouping a trio of pink lips cut using the Lush Lips Originals die. I love how they look grouped together to form a border and to help add to the theme of my card.
It's so fun to think outside of the box when it comes to using small dies like Originals and there are countless ways to use them in card-making. I can't wait to try out a few more ideas with these creative dies very soon.
Thanks for visiting.
