Hi everyone, Mou here with my first inspiration post for 2014. So, Happy New Year and hope it's off to a great start for you!
When I first saw this Fancy Crate Bigz XL die, I knew I had to have it! I pictured it so many different ways sitting on my desk, to give small presents in, to fill with candies, and much more. For my very first project with this die, I decided to create a business card holder.
These are the supplies I used:
Others: Chipboard, acrylic paint, paint brush, adhesive, Mod Podge, painter's tape, pen and markers.
Let me walk you through the steps.
Fold along the score lines. Unfold and reinforce the joints with painter's tape.
Color the pieces with acrylic paint using paint brush.
When dry, assemble the crate with adhesive. Reinforce the outer joints with more painter's tape. Paint over to conceal the tape.
Doodle freehand with permanent ink pen and add subtle colors with brush marker on the outer walls of the crate.
Finish by sealing off the crate with a top coat of Mod Podge.
NOTE: As variations, you could cover die cut Fancy Crate with patterned tissue paper, patterned paper or stamp on it before assembling it. Once you are done, fill the crate with things you like or with business cards like I did.
Hope you liked today’s inspiration and try this die out!
