Sizzix Tutorial | DIY U.S. Party Favor Bag by Michelle Stewart

Hi There! Michelle here to show you how to make a DIY U.S. Party Favor Bag featuring the latest dies by one of my favorite Sizzix Designers, Eileen Hull! Last year, I had the privilege of attending the Eileen Hull Paper Trail Tour Party and previewed Eileen's new line of dies. It was so much fun and I am so happy that they are finally available!

Today, I'm sharing how you can create a personalized gift bag with Expressions Vinyl Heat Transfer Vinyl using the Sizzix Big Shot, United States Map Thinlits Set and the Banners and Pennants Thinlits!

For this project, you will need the Sizzix Big Shot, Cutting Pad, Magnetic PlatformPrecision Base PlateUnited States Map Thinlits Set, the Banners and Pennants Thinlits Set,  Heat Transfer Vinyl in two colors, muslin gift bag, scissors, iron and cotton cloth.

Trim a piece of heat transfer vinyl slightly larger than the dies. Starting with the United States Map Thinlits, make a sandwich. A sandwich consists of the Magnetic Platform, Precision Base Plate Vinyl (shiny side up), US Map Thinlits and then a cutting pad. Pass it through the machine and set the die cut aside.

Repeat the process described above with the Star Thinlits from the Banners and Pennants Thinlits Set.

Arrange the die cuts on the gift bag for placement, shiny side up. With your Iron set on High, place a cotton piece of cloth over the United States Map die cut (put the star aside for now) and press with Iron. Once set, remove the clear paper backing.

Next, place the star on the map on your corresponding State with the shiny side up, cover with the cotton cloth and press with Iron. Once set, remove the clear paper backing.
