Eiffel Tower Embossed Card

Today we welcome our friend May Flaum as our guest blogger. As you know, May visits us from time to time, always sharing a great technique tutorial. Today she has a great card to share that features new Tim Holtz Alterations!

Welcome May!

There are few things I enjoy more than using my embossing folder to add texture to die cut paper, and today I’ve got a card that is surprisingly quick and easy too!

die cutting
The first four steps are very simple, as shown above.

1. Die cut the postage stamp frame and the mini heart from cream cardstock.

2. Place the die cut postage stamp shape into the Eiffel Tower texture fade folder and emboss.

3. Use distress inks and a foam blending tool to color the embossed die cut.

4. Use a brown distress marker to add ink to the edges.

Once this is done, adhere a piece of book paper behind the heart and then place several foam adhesive squares on the back of the die cut and set aside. For the base of your card, use those same ink colors to make a blended background with distress ink. Flick with water for water spots if desired.

Add some twine and a metal charm, adhere the die cut to the center of your card, and in less than fifteen minutes you have a stunning creation!

I am going to be taking this design and altering it slightly to create my own birthday party invitations this year – I just love this postage stamp frame die, and how wonderfully it works with my texture fades and other elements to create the perfect focal point for my cards.

Happy Crafting!
May Flaum
