Embroidery Hoop: A Fun and Simple Stitchlits DIY

Embroidery Hoop: A Fun and Simple Stitchlits DIY

Hi there friends! It's Laura from Make Life Lovely, and today I've got a sweet and simple card to share with you!

This card uses two of my favorite dies from Eileen Hull's new adorable die collection.  I started with the Sizzix Bigz Embroidery Hoop die.

I die cut an embroidery hoop out of a light yellow paper by making a Sizzix sandwich with a Standard Cutting Pad on the bottom, the yellow paper, the Embroidery Hoop die face down, and another Cutting Pad on the top.  I rolled it all through my Big Shot and ended up with a cute paper embroidery hoop.

I also die cut a small banner from the Lanterns Thinlits die set, and glued the hoop and the banner down over a piece of white cardstock with thin black stripes.

I glued the banner down in the top right corner under the hoop, then cut around the edge of the embroidery hoop to remove the excess paper.  I cut another hoop from silver glitter paper and cut the top piece out and glued on the top of my hoop.

I die a cut a small butterfly from gold glitter paper, also from the Lanterns die set, and placed it on the small banner in the corner.

Next I die cut a piece of gold glitter tape by placing the Stitchlits Thinlits die on top of the glitter tape with the adhesive still on the back.  I love the way this turned out!

To add more interest, I used scissors to cut along the hole pattern at the bottom of the tape to make a zig zag pattern, then removed the adhesive back and stuck down the glitter tape in a hoirzontal line near the bottom middle of the hoop.

I die cut the words "Celebrate" from a bright pink piece of paper using the Celebrate die from the Block Celebration Words Thinlits die set.  I glued each letter down just above the gold glitter tape piece.

I love all of the sweet elements of this cute card, and I especially love how simple it was to put together!

I can't wait to give it away to one of my favorite people!

Happy crafting!
