Father's Day: A Mixed Media Masculine Make!

Beauty Shot

Hey Sizzix crafters!  Nicole here and Father’s Day is just around the corner.  I love to create masculine projects and today I have a card for you.  With a few Sizzix dies, some embossing powder and masculine paper you can create something perfectly manly.

Using the Sizzix Little Sizzles- Mat Board White is perfect with the Bigz and Frameworks.  I love how thick it is.  Perfect for inking, embossing and gluing.  I prepped all my cuts first before applying powders and inks.

With all my letters, shapes and frameworks cut and ready I can apply my Hammered Metal embossing powder, Dapper paper and inks.  Once the paper is glued onto the mosaic pieces I distressed the edges by sanding and inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink.

I love the Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder on the  Upper Typo letters.  Very masculine with the copper metallic look.  I put all my die cut layers together and layered over the pattern paper.

I layered the Upper Typo letters over the Mosaic cuts.

I tucked this Dapper fellow Photobooth image behind some Mosaic cuts.  But first I grunged it all up and added some ground espresso ink to the edging.

The copper finish on the Upper Typo letters is perfect for that masculine look.

By layering multiple dies you can create a dynamic project full of dimension.

Creating a masculine card can be a challenge.  If you layer your die cuts with metallic’s, inks and paper you can easily create that masculine effect.  After all, guys like getting cards too.

Have fun creating!

Cheers, Nicole
