Hello friends, Nicole from Nicole Wright Designs here sharing my little Sneak Peek tutorial and how I incorporate my Sizzix die cuts into art journaling. Adding die cut images to your pages adds great diminution to each page. It’s also the perfect foundation to start any page. Not to mention you can ink, layer, emboss, paint and color them. There are simply no bounds here.
I prepared the pages for Eileen Hull’s new Heartfelt Journal using Super Stock paper cut each page to 8x8. Prepping with Distress Oxide inks and stenciling.
With all those bits removed add a little Oxide ink to the Gearhead. I ran the layered pattern paper and cut out through my Creative Station and attached to my page.
The inky gears really pop to add a great layer of color. Mat Board is awesome for the Tarnished Trophy and Prize Ribbons embossed with Hammered Metal.
Too add a more tarnished look color right over the embossing powder with distress crayons. Adding a #1 from the Stencil Number Thinlit right onto the Prize Ribbon. I cut the smallest Pansy Flower with some of the matching pattern paper to layer.
Ink the small Pansy cuts and layer 3 to create the flowers for the trophy. The other page needed some fun with the Ornate Frame #2 and some layered Gadgets Gears #2. Dip the ornate frame #2 into some embossing powder and before heat setting rub off the powder along the edges. This makes for a worn frame look that you can ink.
Get your die cuts ready for Eileen Hull’s new Journal! This Journal is from the new Heartfelt Collection releasing this month.
Here is a peek at my journal cover. Eileen has a new E-Book coming out featuring this awesome new Journal. Be sure to check out my completed Journal and many more when it releases later this spring.
Time to get art journaling.
Happy Crafting, Nicole
