How To Make A Ghostly Banner

Ghosts and bats and skeletons, oh my!  Whether you are a traditional pumpkins and fall leaves kind of decorator or you want your house to be the spookiest stop of the block, Halloween is the perfect opportunity to create homemade decor. If you're like me, I love to incorporate the little ones wherever I can, so today I'm bringing you some quick  DIY ghosts that any man, woman or child can easily create. Let's dive in to see what supplies you'll need:

How To Make:

Cut each color of cloth into squares (I cut mine into 9"x 9" squares). If  you would like larger or longer ghosts cut the cloth into larger squares, or even some as rectangles.

To create each ghost, layer up the cheesecloth squares on top of one another, 3-4 squares per ghost depending on the thickness of the cheesecloth. While layering the cloth, stagger the edges so that the ghost will have an organic flow at the bottom.

Cut pieces of twine to the length desired to hang the ghosts. Fold the twine in half and double-knot the ends. Thread the twine through the holes of the golf ball.

In the center of each stack of cloth, create a small hole to thread the twine through (*Note, threading with a bobby pin or cutting a small slit can help). Place a small amount of hot glue at the top of each golf ball to hold the cloth in place.

Out of black cardstock, use a hole punch to create the eyes for the ghosts. Hand cut mouth shapes for each of the ghosts out of black cardstock.

Hot glue the faces to each ghost.

String the ghosts along a long line of twine and hang them up in your home.

Until next time, Happy Haunting!
