Hello, Sizzix fans! Vivian Keh here today with a video Sizzix Tutorial that shows you how to use some of the fantastic accessory tools available from Sizzix. These few items will really widen the scope of what you can do with your die cutting machine and make your die cutting experience much more efficient.
If you don't have them yet, check out my video to learn what the Magnetic Platform, the Dimensional Cutting Pad, and the Embossing Diffusers are, what they can do, and how they are used. For this trio of cards, I had a lovely opportunity to work with patterned papers from one of my favorite companies - Authentique! These cards use the Harmony Collection.
Through the course of this particular crafting session, I discovered my new go-to floral die set, theCoquette Sizzix Thinlits Set by Prima, which makes these yummy blossoms, perfectly sized for embellishing cards/gifts, and for creating feminine clusters on layouts that will nest your photos.
There are practical basic shape dies...
As well as an intricate larger frame (see kraft colored shape below) in the Enchanted Framelits Set. That one makes my crafters' heart sing!
You'll see in the video how theMagnetic Platform makes precise placement of wafer thin dies an absolute breeze - no more taping, sticky notes, nor washi needed anymore.
You'll also see how the Embossing Diffusers are used for a partial emboss. A partial emboss will easily keep a portion of your project free and clear for you to do with as you please while creating an embossed surface as a framing element. Finally, you will see how using the Dimensional Cutting Pad can lift your die cut up for dimension, provide a pop of color from beneath, but keep the die cut attached where it counts so there is no need for sticky adhesive.
I hope you find this video useful and that these tools help you expand your die-cutting and embossing repertoire!
