Hi everyone, Jeanne here today with a fun little card (4 1/4" x 4 1/4") card using some new stamps and dies from Tim Holtz.

I love to make my own background papers when I can and so for today's project I made the papers for both the background and the butterfly with Color Burst powders. This will be for my butterfly.

Here is a neat trick for positioning your patterned (or in this case watercolored) papers in the exact spot you want to die cut. First you'll die cut your chosen die (I used Sizzix Framelits Die Set Flutter) using a scrap piece of paper using the recommended Sizzix die cutting sandwich for Thinlits and Framelits dies: Sizzix Magnetic Platform (or the Precision Base Plate for Thinlits Dies), Sizzix Cutting Pad, paper, die (cutting side down), Sizzix Cutting Pads. Run this sandwich through your Big Shot Machine. Don't forget your Sizzix Die Brush & Foam Pad for getting all those little paper bits from your dies.

Move your paper underneath and get it in just the right spot and tape it in place.

I used a stamp positioner (MISTI from My Sweet Petunia) and put my stamp (Stampers Anonymous Cling Mount Stamps - Flutter)  right in the opening of my template and stamped the butterfly in black ink.

To position your die move your stamped image under the opening until you have it in the correct position, put your die cut in the opening and tape in place to die cut. Templates are especially helpful if you are cutting multiples. I usually tuck my templates into the die envelope for later use.

I used a die from the Sizzix Framelits - Stitched Circles set to cut a circle and just inked the antennae and body of my butterfly. The die cut butterfly will be layered on top.

I used the leftover ink from blotting my butterfly background to create this paper. I misted my paper towel to rewet the ink and dabbed it onto watercolor paper.

I die cut my background square using the Sizzix Framelits - Stitched Squares dies. I sponged the edges with brown ink and attached it to a white card back.

I finished my card by adding a little shimmer to my paper with glitter glue. I spread it thinly in the area under my letters and the bottom corner. I attached my butterfly panel and then my phrase using the Sizzix Thinlits Alphanumeric 3/8" die set.
