Sizzix Inspiration | Make a Splash Card by Anna Wight

Hello, hello! Anna Wight here with a little Sizzix Inspiration.

Today I'm sharing a quick and easy summertime birthday card using dies from the Sizzix Modern Surrealist line, and using the adorable and very handy Sizzix SophistiCut Machine.

The sandwich for the SophistiCut machine is easy. First you place down a cutting pad, then your small, medium or border-sized Sizzix Originals die, the card stock, and finally a second cutting pad. I was able to cut out the Thought Talk Bubbles quickly and easily.

I stamped the sentiment on the talk bubble, lightly inked the edges, and it was ready to use on my card.

Using the SophistiCut, I also created a cool paper chain border for my card using the Chained die. For some reason, this chain die cut reminds me of the large ropes used on fishing boats. It is what inspired me to create a water themed card.

In the Big Shot I used the new Waves & Bubbles embossing folder to give the background of my card a cool watery look. Once my card stock was embossed, I lightly inked the edges. I stamped Swimsuit Stanley on card stock and colored him with ShinHan Touch Twin markers. Once colored, I die cut the colored image with one of the Labels Majestic Framelit dies, and lightly inked the edges.

Thanks so much for joining me today… and, happy summer!
