Hello there, friends! Genevive of Thoughtful Crafts here, very excited to share with you what I have created with the super cute dies from the Debi Potter collection: Sizzix Bigz Die - Kitten, Sizzix Bigz Die - Garden Flower, Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 3PK - Happy Trims.
I made a card with lots of textures and details and as usual, everything starts with gathering the cardstocks in colors I like, so I got green, pink and yellow. Then I went ahead and cut the die-cuts. For the kitten and the flowers which are Bigz dies, the sandwich should be (from bottom to top): Sizzix Standard Cutting Pad +Die facing up + paper + Cutting Pad. And for the white trims, which are Thinlits, the Sizzix sandwich should be in this order: Sizzix Magnetic Platform + Sizzix standard cutting pad +paper + thinlits dies facing down + cutting pad.
When the die-cuts were ready, I then proceeded to make my card base which is a 12x6 white cardstock paper, folded in half. For the background, I used water color and a little bit of white gesso for texture. I couldn't choose between pink and grey at this point so I just went ahead and make two :)
As you can see, I finally chose grey. It looked so pretty with the white gesso which I applied using a textured roller. I glued the happy trims die-cuts on top with glossy accents which is a good glue to use when the material is too thin, because we don't want to see glue coming out and stealing the limelight.
I love the water color + gesso + heart trims effect. It's not too loud but it's there.
For the flower details, I mixed cardstocks and a piece of velum then I threaded the flower button with a silver and white baker's twine.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in a darker grey chalk ink, and added it to finish the card.
I hope you are happy with I created for you this month! Until next time! :)
