Hello everyone! Genevive here from Thoughtful Crafts :) Valentines may be over already but giving thoughtful gifts for our loved ones never stops. So here's another gift giving idea from me to you! I'm sharing with you how I made these cute matchbook notepads using my favorite Matchbook Notebook die by Where Women Cook.
To start, I took out the die I needed and my Sizzix Big Shot Plus (you can also use the regular Big Shot machine, I use the Big Shot Plus all the time because it's very versatile, I can use bigger materials, and I am able to use all my dies from plus dies to the smallest one). Then I assembled my Sizzix "sandwich" (from bottom to top): (from bottom to top): Sizzix Extended Cutting Pad + die + paper + Sizzix Extended Premium Crease Pad then I started die-cutting by rolling the sandwich through the Big Shot Plus machine.
So here are the die-cuts. It's already scored so all I needed was to fold along the lines and glue the flaps to make the matchbook case.
I always like to add washi tapes to my projects. You can never go wrong with it. It also serves as a reinforcement to make my matchbook more stable.
Using the same matchbook die and a red glitter cardstock, I also die-cut these small reinforcers for matchbook locks.
I attached the circle reinforcers with red brads (because I couldn't find other colors and I think it looks ok haha).
Now for the note cards. I was so excited when I found stamps that perfectly matched the size of the notecards!
So these is how the matchbook looks now, with the note cards in it.
And to lock, add a little baker's twine.
So there you go, 3 cute matchbooks, simple, fast and pretty!
See you next time!
