Personalize Your Gift Cards With This Last Minute Make!

Hi All! Tami Mayberry from Create It Simply here with you today to share a new project featuring some of the latest dies from Sizzix and Linda Kanase. For today's project, I created a quick and easy gift-card holder using the Bigz L Die - Card, Slider. It really like the fact that the die not only cuts the pieces but scores them as well. This simple process gives you a project that can be finished in minutes while making giving gift cards more personal!

For the base pieces of this project, you will want use the Sizzix sandwich shown above:  Extended Cutting Pad,  desired die (cutting side up), cardstock,  and Extended Premium Crease Pad. This will give you pieces that are not only die-cut but also scored and ready to fold with ease.

Using  the Sizzix Card, Slider die, die-cut outer layer from dark green cardstock, inner layer from lighter green cardstock and front panel from Picture This!, patterned paper. (see below for patterned paper cover tip)

Using your Card, Slider die, you can easily cut the perfect cover design for you gift-card holder. You'll notice this die cuts both the inside and outside of the holder. For the cover, simply place your patterned paper face down as shown above aligning the edge with the center score line and run through your machine.

Place adhesive on back side of inner panel as shown above. (Note that you will only want adhesive on the outer sections in order for the gift card to be inserted and the card folder properly.)

Attach pieces together as shown above and fold along pre-scored lines.

Adhere Picture This!, patterned panel to front of gift card holder.

Wrap folded gift card holder with crochet lace overlapping ends. Attach ends using adhesive squares. (Do not attach lace directly to card, you will want this piece to be able to be removed later in order to open the card and add/remove gift card).

Stamp greeting from  Photo Frame, Seasonal Phrases on to green cardstock using black ink. Die-cut around image using magnetic platform and positioning coordinating Photo Frame, Seasonal Phrases die around image as shown above. (For this step use a Sizzix sandwich of Extended Magnetic Platform, a Extended Cutting Pad,  cardstock, desired die (cutting side down), and, finally, the second Extended Cutting Pad.)

Attach adhesive foam squares to edges of die-cut greeting. (Only place them on the ends. When it is attached to the gift card holder front the pieces you used for the lace will support the center and keep the piece level.)

Attach greeting to cardholder front. Embellish with rhinestones as desired.
