Hello everyone, it’s Aida here form Life and Paper Crafting. How has your November been ? I hope things in your home are nicely rolling along towards Christmas. This Wednesday I have a journaling page with details using Katelyn Lizardi’s Planner products that include Dies and Stamp sets as well as a paper pack.
I’m not a Planner person, but I do Journal about the “Whys of My Life” and writing in a regular notebook has been the most convenient for me. It doesn’t get filled everyday, only when there’s something I need to work on mentally, maybe a reminder or rant, a happy event, mostly for stuff I am thankful for. Filling it at random moments makes this more fun, there’s very little pressure with no schedule.
Over time I’ve found that I prefer decorating mostly on the left page, and writing on the right hand page. There are exceptions when I’m feeling extra creative and pile on more details, though generally I keep to this system.
These Katelyn Lizardi Planner Thinlts and Stamps are fairly small (aside from the Planner Bookmark) and using the Sidekick has made convenience such a revelation. Everything is doubly fun, much faster to die cut small shapes because of the Sidekick’s short rolling action when compared to using the Big Shot.
As you can see, these Planner Thinlits can be used for journal pages, even cards, not just Planners. The paper pad has lovely soft colours that will make sweet little projects.
Here are the Sizzix products I used for my Journal pages :
To begin, I stamped a few banners in Distress Wilted Violet to match the Plan Your Day paper pack colours. A good time saving tip would be to make a few of each stamped, die-cut shape to use for you next journal pages. To make it easy, I keep them in a transparent pocket adhered to the back of my notebook.
Tape a little piece of washi to the edge of the Thinlits and run it through the Sidekick.
The Brown cutting pad on the right will give you an idea of the Sidekick's die-cutting surface and as you see, it fits the Planner dies perfectly !
Don't you love the tags ? These are from the Christmas Planner set. Gather all the die-cuts and now the journal pages can be decorated !
The banner fits the sentiments in the paper pad.
I LOVE the cute tiny house in Household Planer set !
This pretty paper became my background for the page and I began layering details on it.
This is how the left page looks like. How you journal or decorate your pages is very personal, it is your own and you should enjoy the process. There are times when my pages look very scrapbook-ish, and other times, depending on my moods, it would look very shabby or vintage. I love that there is no fixed "style" and truly reflecting my changes in perspectives from week to week.
The glitter stars gave a happy, lively feel and are from the Planner Bookmark.
This photo of my two girls was taken out of a damaged layout and I decided to use it here. The layering of the die-cuts was fun with the trimmed out sentiments adding to the feel of the page.
Thank you for coming by and I hope you enjoyed the ideas shared today. Journal pages are a great way to keep memories alive ..... making them pretty just makes it more fun.
See you again soon, Aida.
