Hi everyone! Jan here today sharing a layout celebrating love. These are my grandparents on their 50th wedding anniversary. My grandfather was quite a character, I wonder what he said to make my grandmother burst into laughter!
Sizzix is making some great new dies that are extra large for their new Big Shot Plus machine or the Big Shot Pro machine. This Framelits Plus Circle set has 15 sizes of circles! I used the two largest ones to cut out these two pieces of patterned paper. The largest circle measures 7 1/2" in diameter.
For my envelopes, I used Sizzix's Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers Envelope Bigz Die. A standard cutting pad, bigz die, paper, then cutting pad is the Sizzix sandwich used. After this was die-cut, my sides and bottom were adhered together. For my other envelope, I added in another step.
Movers and Shapers dies are created to work with the Mini Magnetic Movers & Shapers dies. These small magnetic dies are placed inside the cut out part of the Bigz die to create a shape within a shape. I used these Magnetic Mini Silhouettes with my envelope die to create silhouette cutouts.
I placed a piece of dark brown cardstock behind the silhouette cutouts before assembling my envelope.
For my various hearts, I used Sizzix's Tim Holtz Heartfelt Bigz Die and the heart from the Tim Holtz Scribbles & Splat Thinlits die set with cardstock and patterned paper. Some of the hearts were embossed with the Tim Holtz Quilted Texture Fade.
After I had all my pieces die-cut and the edges inked, I was ready to assemble my layout. I hand cut a strip from my patterned paper (approx 3.5" x 12") and adhered this across my background paper. I then adhered my layered circles on top. I had also hand cut flowers and shapes from my paper collection (Carta Bella's Rustic Elegance) to add to my layout. My matted photo was adhered in the center and halfway up the circle die cuts.
The envelopes were adhered on the left with various hearts adhered coming out of them, on top and around.
I cut out a small rectangle from a journalling card (apprx. 3 3/4" x 2 1/2") and adhered various sizes of hearts to the top. This card was used for journalling.
This tag was tucked into the envelope with the silhouettes.
The jar image is cut out from my paper collection also. I made a slit on the lid and slipped in another heart. I finished off the layout, with adding a "50" rub on on my jar and Ranger's Dark Chocolate Liquid Pearls to my flower centers.
Here's another look at my finished layout. This Sizzix Heartfelt Bigz die that I have used, is one of my favourite dies. I love that there are so many sizes on one die. I hope I have inspired you to create your own "love story" layout!
