Hello everyone! It's Jan here today sharing a layout featuring new dies from Lori Whitlock and a few from Tim Holtz.
My mother-in-law and I shared a love for gardening and every spring we would visit a few of the greenhouses together. I would always tease her about her love for white flowers, we have such a long snowy winter and the last thing anyone wants to see is more white. She loved colour but there was always room for more white blossoms. These white anemones were transferred from her garden, and every spring when they bloom I think of her.
I started off my layout with die-cutting a rectangle from my paper with the Tim Holtz Stitched Rectangle Thinlits die. To die-cut this I used the Sizzix Sandwich - Magnetic Platform, Cutting Pad, Paper, Thinlits die facing down, Cutting pad. I taped my die to my paper as I was cutting out the words pattern and I wanted it to be centered.
My background paper was stitched along the edge to compliment the stitched edge of the rectangle. The "today" was pop-dotted onto my background paper.
Next I die-cut my flowers using the Lori Whitlock Mix & Match Flowers Thinlits set from patterned paper. The Sizzix Sandwich used was the same as for the rectangle die.
The Tim Holtz Crosshatch Frameworks die was used for an extra embellishment. A piece of chipboard covered with patterned paper was used. The Sizzix Sandwich used was; Cutting Pad, Die facing up, chipboard, Cutting Pad. Once this was cut out, I snipped of a few bits to make it look uneven. I then applied embossing powder to random areas in a light pink.
The Lori Whitlock Perfect Labels Thinlits Set was used for my journaling labels. These were also layered and some pop-dotted.
The layered flowers were finished off with the edges inked and adhesive backed stones in the middle. The Crosshatch die-cut was also inked along the edges.
There's 10 different flower dies in this set, so there's lots of different combinations to make.
A few flowers were hand cut from my patterned paper. There are 15 different pieces in the label set, so lots of different combinations here too. After everything was adhered to my page, I added in a few adhesive backed stones also.
Here's another look at my layout. Thanks so much to stopping by!
