Hello there, Mou from My Life in Collage blog here today with a fun layout embellished with Brenda Walton's Mini Correspondence die! I'll show you how you can dress up these tiny envelopes and inserts to make the cutest page embellishments.
To create these embellishments, you start by die-cutting the envelopes and inserts using Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Inserts & Envelopes, Mini Correspondence. For die-cutting create the following Sizzix Sandwich: lay the Mini Correspondence die, blade-side up on a Sizzix Accessory Cutting Pad - Extended. Lay patterned paper on the blade surface.
Note: The XL die is 13" long so you'll need to line up at least two pieces of paper to cleanly die-cut the designs that extend beyond the length of your 12" papers. Stack a few sheets of text weight papers with different patterns.
You'll have a few pieces to mix and match if you used coordinating patterned papers.
Fold back along the crease lines and apply adhesive on the tabs. Press down to create the envelopes.
Place the inserts in the envelopes.
Now, let the fun begin! Gather some bits and pieces of stickers, ribbons, chipboard shapes, buttons, brads, etc. that you have had for a long time and haven't used. You can use up some of your stash in this kind of projects.
Keep your project from looking dated by mixing new with your old stash. I painted these flowers and brush-lettered words and added them in alongside products I have had for a while. A good tip would be to stay within the same color scheme to keep the project from looking too random. I stayed with pinks, reds and black mainly and added kraft, white and green for some contrasting pops of color.
Keep playing with the bits and bobs till you are happy.
Add the mini envelopes to your layout. Tuck in your journaling in one of the mini envelopes. I added my title, 'Live Love Laugh' on one of the envelopes.
Just have fun with this!
Thanks for stopping by today!
