Simple & Fun Summer Scrapbook Page DIY

Hello crafters, Leica here!

I just got back from the lake last night and now I am up to my ears in laundry! But secretly, that is awesome, because it gives me time to create and relax. I love lazy laundry days! I recently printed off almost 1000 pictures. So this summer I have a goal- scrapbook, scrapbook, scrapbook!! The reality is though- do I have time for time consuming elaborate pages? Nope! I need ones that are quick and cute. I love being a hands-on mommy, so I don't want to miss out on any family fun, but at the same time- it is SUPER important to me to document that fun for their future!

So let's get started on this quick layout. First I cut out my letters.  I used the Sizzix Bigz Alphabet Set 4 Dies - Fresh Blossoms Alphabet. I cut them out first because they are tall and oversized, so I needed to see how much room they would take up and figure out my photo placement after that. I just cut out the exact size of pp I would need and put them over the specific letters.

Here's the title close-up. I wanted to give the title a little more interest. By cutting the O out of plain blue card stock and adding a strawberry, it spiced it up.

I used large photos  (5x5) that I printer from my Instagram account. It is a neat size and lately I have been loving using my Instagram photos to scrap with. I have already done all the editing so it makes it super easy. The only downside is that these photo take up a large amount of room, not leaving much room for embellishing. So I decided to use a larger embellishment to hold the journalling. As it was a cooking page, I grabbed the Sizzix Bigz Die- Cookie Jar.

It kind of gives a nice background to the journaling. The rest of the page came along so quick because I had used the Home Sweet Home kit from Carta Bella. As you can see, teal, brown and red are such a neat colour combo. I was totally inspired by this swatch I found on Pinterest from Design-Seeds blog.

Thanks for checking it out! Have fun creating.

Leica :)
