Hi everyone, Mou here with today's Sizzix Challenge project tutorial.
Let me walk you through the tutorial.
Cut white cardstock to 5.5" x 4.25" pieces. Lay the card stock inside the embossing folder. You'll see I used here the Damask Textured Impressions and Burlap & Swirls Texture Faces embossing folder sets. Lay the folder between two cutting pads on tab 1 of the Multipurpose Platform and pass the entire sandwich through the Big Shot machine. Repeat till all the pieces are embossed using the different folders.
Draw irregular grids on the embossed pieces using ruler and pencil. Cut along the drawn grids.
Attach the embossed tiles to card stock using Gel Medium. Seal the top to secure the layer in place and to keep corners from lifting up. Let dry.
Wet the sealed surface with water and dab on some Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves Distress Stains.
Repeat the same on the left side of the layout with Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint Distress Stains.
Lay card stock on Floral Botanical Sizzlits dies blade-side up between two cutting pads on the Multipurpose Platform open to tab 1 and pass the entire sandwich through the Big Shot machine. Color the pieces with watercolors of your choice.
Die cut ovals by placing couple of pieces of card stock on the Ovals #3 Originals die blade side up, and putting them in between cutting pads and passing the whole sandwich through the Big Shot machine. Color the die cut ovals with watercolors. Rub Walnut Stain Distress Stain on the card stock embossed with the Burlap Texture Fades Embossing Folder from the Burlap & Swirls set. Cut out small rectangles from this embossed piece. Add more colors to the rectangles.
Attach the ovals to the layout and the rectangles on top of each to make them look like light bulbs. Add details with black pen.
Arrange the floral botanical die cuts on the layout saving enough space for a photo to be added.
Add photo and write the title on top of the photo with fine paint brush and Dusty Concord Distress paint. Journal next to the photo to finish.
Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial and would create something fabulous with these Sizzix dies and embossing folders. Make sure to find out how you can participate in The Sizzix Challenge and be entered to win and eclips2 machine here!
