Hello Everyone! Leica here with some more Halloween spooky fun for The Sizzix Challenge Halloween! This is my absolute favourite season to decorate. I like the eerie decorations. So much fun!!!
So let's make a few things featuring this fabulous French Bow Bigz Die. This is my new favourite die. It is AMAZING!!!! I prepped all my pieces. In this case it doesn't make sense to cover the whole die with a paper. It will just be a waste. The reason why is for almost all the sections, you need to cut a FOLDED paper. I show you an example below.
Line up folded part where there is NO cut line. Practice on a spare paper before your good one, just so you get the feel of where to place it. If you want a larger bow, then you can allow more room on your fold.
This is how it will look when you place that folded paper down. Now I ended up cutting out over 20 bows, so by the end I was able to prep all the parts of my bow and cut them at once. Just be slow and steady so there is no shifting.
Here is the way I cut my bows: I need 3 large bow parts and 1 middle. I added faux stitching and 3D foam tape for a puffier bow. I folded over each bow part to the middle of the bow. Starting with the biggest bow first I then layered the next bow over it and wrapped the middle with the paper.
For the centre of the bow, you can add rhinestones, pearls, jewels, other decorations.
Now let's show you one of the projects I did with these fabulous bows! I made a Trick-or-Treat banner. In case you haven't noticed, I make banners for every single event and holiday. My kids just dig them!
First off, cut some banners and then emboss them all. To emboss in a Big Shot machine use your Multipurpose Platform and open it to Tab 1. Layer one Cutting Pad, the Embossing Folder closed with the material inside and put your second Cutting Pad on top to roll it through the machine. I used lot's of different embossing folders just to add different dimension.Underneath the bow I put a border layer. Each one of those is different.
This one has the Damask set.
For this set I used Sizzix Bigz Die Phrase, Trick or Treat for the words. A Bigz die is super easy to cut. Just put one Cutting Pad in the Big Shot, place your die face up with your material on top and then your second Cutting Pad.
Why not recreate your own little graveyard? It is a fun touch. I used these Sizzix Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die Set Mini Ornate Crosses. Movers & Shapers require the L Base Tray and a pair of Cutting Pads to cut.
Hope you enjoyed these. I sure had fun making them. Please come check out my blog for more fun Halloween projects.
