Hi everyone, Jan here today with a card inspired by The Sizzix Challenge.
I was inspired by the glass elements, colours, and the soft feel of the photo.
For my card, I used Sizzix Originals die Ovals #3, Vintaj Wildflower Vines and Dragonfly Pond DecoEmboss folders, and Lori Whitlock Gift Card Box Embellishments Thinlits die set. The ovals were cut out from coloured vellum and then embossed with the Vintaj DecoEmboss folders. On the largest oval, I die cut the word love from the Lori Whitlock set.
For my 8 x 4 card, I used white card stock and matted a patterned piece of paper on top. My patterned paper and vellum is from a beautiful collection, called Strawberry Fields by Webster's Pages. I took the solid scalloped square Thinlits and die cut my patterned paper. With the coordinating filigree top, I die cut white card stock. The white piece was then pop dotted onto the patterned piece and adhered to my card base.
I added my large oval with the word love and adhered it to my center. Next, I took my embossed ovals and lightly sanded the raised areas and edges. I lightly inked these areas to highlight the embossing and the shape of the ovals. They were adhered to my card with glue dots. I find that glue dots aren't too visible through the vellum.
To finish off my card, I hand cut flowers from my patterned paper and shaped with my Sizzix Susan's Garden Tool Kit. These were adhered with adhesive and pop dots, too.
I love how the ovals turned out, and can't wait to use these on other projects. They would make great frames for small portraits, especially because they stack. Hope my card has inspired you to take the Sizzix Challenge and for a chance to win an eclips2 machine!
