As a long time Disney fan, I love the look of lattice! The Parks are all decorated with lattice, usually in a diamond pattern. So when I was invited to host a Disney Villains #DisneySide @Home Celebration, I knew that I wanted a lattice pattern for my invitations. After browsing the Sizzix eShape Store, I found the Diamonds Shape by Jamie Pate that could be converted into lattice easily. The beauty of using the eCal Lite software with the Sizzix eclips2 Electronic Cutting System is that you can customize and adapt any shape from the Library or the eShape Store to your exact needs.
Free printable DisneySide Celebrations invitations are available online but I wanted to really WOW my guests. After adapting the Diamonds cut file to create a custom lattice card front, I cut vellum to 4.25" x 5.5" to insert behind the lattice pattern on the card front, using Tombow Vellum Adhesive to secure it in place. Then I added glitter cardstock mouse head stickers to the center of each invite, slipping the provided one-sheet invites and a map to my house inside of the card.
Here's how to create this Disney themed lattice card as well as how to transform the cut file from a diamond pattern to a diamond lattice pattern within the eCal Lite software for the Sizzix eclips2:
This project comes together lickety split with a few basic supplies:
- Sizzix eclips2 Electronic Cutting System
- Sizzix Shape Store Diamonds Shape by Jamie Pate
- Glitter Mouse Head Stickers
- Bazzill Cardstock
- Tombow Vellum Adhesive
- Paper Trimmer with Scoring Blade
- Bone Folder
The guests all told me they completely enjoyed receiving these fun cards, remarking that it felt like opening the gates to one of the theme parks. That's what we were aiming for! I hope you’re as excited to try your hand at turning a simple cutting file into a unique custom file with your Sizzix eclips 2 today!
