Hello, Friends! It's Monika here from Life With Lovebugs for today's Sizzix Inspiration. Last week we received a note from my daughter's class saying that her teacher's birthday was this week. I'm never sure what to give teachers for birthday, so I asked my daughter for a few suggestions and she said she wanted to give the teacher chocolate. What a great idea, everyone loves chocolate! So for today's project I'm sharing with you the box I made for my daughter's teacher's gift.
For this project I used the Sizzix Bigz L Die Scalloped Gable Box along with the Flower Layers #6 from the Sizzix Sizzlits Die Set Flower Layers Set #2. The set come with three different flower designs, all of which are very cute.
Using the chipboard, die cut the gable box with a Premium Crease Pad in your Sizzix Sandwich in place of one the Cutting Pads that you would normally use. It helps to make the fold marks more prominent, which is important for this type of box especially when using chipboard.
For the flowers I used Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection cardstock, I love the texture that the paper has and the variety of colors is great. My daughter picked out these colors because she said they reminded her of Spring.
I also tied a 5/8" crossgrain ribbon around the box before gluing on the flowers because the box seemed as if it needed a bit more texture and color.
To attached the gift tag I used a cream colored raffia that I had on hand. Sometimes I find spools in the dollar bins at different stores and I always grab some. You never know when it's going to fit perfectly in a project.
I think the box turned out nice, don't you? I'm sure it will be even better once it's filled with yummy chocolates! Who will you make this box for?
