Hi everybody! It's Audrey Pettit. The holidays are almost here, so what better time to create holiday tags to dress up all those pretty packages under the tree. Today I have some fun shabby chic tags to share for today's Sizzix Inspiration, made with adorable new dies from Jen Long's fall Sizzix collection Me & You.
These cute tags are made from a mixture of dies from Jen's new release, and I love the unique, slightly eclectic look I ended up with. The base of the tags are die cut from the Fancy Base w/ Layering Shapes Thinlits die set. I think the label shape is so pretty and unique, and can be used for so many different projects. With just the simple addition of a punched hole in the top, the fancy base becomes an instant tag.
After die cutting my tags from a mix of neutral patterned papers, I stamped a holiday sentiment down the right side, then added some fun kraft paper arrows die cut from the Arrows Card Front Thinlit die to the opposite side. This amazing die cuts a standard A2 card base full of arrows, but that's not all it can do. It's so easy to cut your die cut paper apart to use on several projects all at once. With just one pass of the die through my Big Shot, I was able to embellish all six of my tags with a few additional pieces left over.
The tags were given a good white wash of paint, then tied with a bit of natural hemp cord. Last detail was to add holiday date numbers and holly leaves, die cut from Kraft core cardstock using the Calendar Months Thinlits die set. The small sizes were absolutely perfect for my tags, and with icons dies for every month of the year, I know this new set will quickly become my new favorite go-to set.
