Hi everybody! Melissa here for today's Sizzix Inspiration. I've decided that tags are my most favorite item to paper-craft...something about their size and shape, make them so much fun to dress up and add character to. So to celebrate my love of all things tag related, I have a really sweet project to share with you today that uses my new favorite Sizzix products.
I began with theStephanie Ackerman Sizzix Bigz Tags #5 die. I used the larger tag for my base, and the smaller tag for my sentiment.
To die cut my Tags #5 in cream cardstock, I used the Sizzix Big Shot. To do this, you will want to sandwich your Tags #5 with your material of choice between a pair of Standard Cutting Pads. Then roll the sandwich through your machine.
After die cutting my tags from cream cardstock, I added texture to my larger tag by using the Sizzix Texture Fades Bubble & Honeycomb Embossing Folders.
To emboss with the Bubble & Honeycomb in the Sizzix Big Shot, open the Extended Multipurpose Platform to tab 1. Place one Standard Cutting Pad down. Place the embossing folder with your material inside on top with the second Standard Cutting Pad to top it off.
I added some age to my tags by distressing the edges using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Next I added fabric hearts to the front of my tags using the Stephanie Ackerman Sizzix Originals Hearts #3 Die. My bottom and center hearts were cut using fabric, while the heart on the top of the pile was cut using vintage trim. This is a really fun way to use up your favorite fabric scraps.
I embellished the bottom of my tags by using the Stephanie Ackerman Sizzlits Decorative Strip Scallops #2 Die and patterned paper in coordinating colors and patterns.
Next I stamped my sentiments on the smaller die cut tags using the Sizzix Stephanie Ackerman Framelits Tags & Words Dies w/Stamps set.
Each small tag was attached to the top of the larger tag using a metal pin, embellished with buttons, and thread through mixed trims and ribbon.
So, pull out your sweet scraps and get to work creating a few fun tags for someone special!
