Sizzix Inspiration | Fall Leaf Candy Bag Favors by Laura Russell

Hello there!  It's Laura here with a fun and easy Sizzix Inspiration idea for you!

I recently hosted a fall party where I invited friends to eat some delicious food and play games and just have fun together.  You can check out all the delicious details of the party here!

Since the theme of the party was Fall, I thought it would be fun to give each couple a bag of caramel apple salt water taffy to take home with them…. yum!

To make my store-bought muslin drawstring bags more interesting, I dove into my felt stash and pulled out some red, orange, and gold felt scraps.

I used Tim Holtz's new Layered Leaf Bigz die to cut some felt fall colored leaves by making a sandwich with a Standard Cutting Pad, the die face up, the felt, and then the second Standard Cutting Pad.  I rolled it all through my Big Shot to get gorgeous leaves that were perfect for gluing onto my candy bag favors.

To adhere the leaves to my bags, I just used my glue gun to make it quick and easy!

I made a handful of these cute bags in under 10 minutes a few hours before the party, which was perfect since I had the whole rest of the party to get ready!

I love that my Big Shot can cut through felt without any trouble at all!  Tomorrow I'll be sharing with you another easy project that involves cutting wood.  Gotta' love the Big Shot!

Happy crafting!

XO, Laura

I love the project....the unfortunate part is that Sizzix DT members and Tim Holtz blog keep showing examples with this one die and embossing set....and its no where to be had! Ugh! Its out of stock everywhere and while we all love the look of projects with this die....there's no way to try it ourselves. :(

I would just keep checking back on Sizzix.com for when it comes back in stock. It's an amazing die and it looks like everyone else loves it too! ;) It will eventually be in stock- I think it's definitely worth the wait!
