I love heart dies and since the two dies I used here, Hearts #4 and Love Phrase #3, are steel rule dies, you can die cut the hearts from a large range of surfaces. I made a cheerful art journal page in my Ranger Small Creative Journal, about creativity being important for a happy heart.
The hearts were die cut six times from old book paper, you can cut more than one paper in one go. Die cutting sandwich: cutting pad, die facing up, papers, second cutting pad. The hearts were stitched together and I left the threads loose.
After stitching the hearts, I misted them with Biscotti Perfect Pearls mist and crumbled them up quite a bit for dimension.
The background was first covered with gesso and then dry painted with Ranger Dina Wakley paints by dragging the paint around with a Ranger scraper tool. I also added some stencilling with Texture Paste.
I also used the Happy Phrase #2, which is such a useful word, both for art journaling, cardmaking and scrapbooking. It was die cut from kraft-core card stock and sanded slightly.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
