Hello, Friends! It's Monika here from Life With Lovebugs for today's Sizzix Inspiration. Since Mr. Groundhog has told us that there will be 6 more weeks of Winter I thought it would be nice to move on from the snowflakes and mittens that aren't going anywhere, and think about warm, sunny springtime. Six weeks isn't that long, right?
For today's project I started with a plain wood frame. You can get these for $1 or so at any craft store. I painted this frame white and wiped off any excess paint with a paper towel before it dried so that it would make streaks on the frame.
Don't forget to use your Magnetic Platform with these dies, it really helps to keep the pieces in place, especially when they are so small! Layer one Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform, then your paper and your die and then another Cutting Pad.
Now, all you have to do is assemble your pieces and glue them to the frame.
I added some bakers twine to the corners of my banner for a little bit of extra detail.
I think the smiley face sun is my favorite part of this project. There is also a sun die without the face, if you'd prefer that.
The Hello Sunshine die is from the Sizzix Triplits Die Set Hello Sunshine set. But you could also use the Spring die from the Sizzix Triplits Die Set Spring Birds set, which is where the bird and egg dies are from.
I hope you enjoyed today’s craft, be sure to stop by my blog Life With Lovebugs for recipes, crafts, healthy living posts and more!
