Sizzix Inspiration | Make It Count Wall-Hanging by Anna-Karin Evaldsson

Hello everyone! It is Anna-Karin here with you, sharing a wall-hanging made with dies by Brenda Walton. It might look complicated, but it comes together real quick. If you don't want to make a wall-hanging, you can easily turn it into a card.

I used only two dies to make this, the Victorian Frame Sizzix Bigz XL die and the Floral Wreath Thinlits set. The papers are all from Graphic 45 Artisan Style 8 x 8 paper pad. The Victorian Frame is dimensional and has a lovely shape, making it perfect for a wall-hanging. The same die can also be used to frame a photo on a scrapbooking page or to make a pretty card. Start by covering Mat Board with paper and die cut the larger frame from this. Die cut the inner frame from patterned paper. Use this sandwich for both of these die cuts: Extended Cutting Pad, die facing up, paper or mat board, second Extended Cutting Pad.

The die cuts the window and all you have to do is to roll the paper with a pencil and attach with a brad. Very easy! It is also explained on the packaging. I used an image of a house as my focal point, but a photo would look great too. A few die cuts were glued inside the frame to give the scene more detail and dimension.

All the embellishments were die cut with the Floral Wreath set, which contains 23 dies. Use the Sizzix Magnetic Platform together with Thinlits dies for the best results. Sandwich: Magnetic Platform, Cutting Pad, paper, die facing down, second Cutting Pad.

Look at your patterned papers and see if there aren't sections which will look interesting on smaller die cuts. The butterflies were die cut from a peacock patterned paper.

I die cut a bunch of leaves, flowers, and cherries to embellish my frame. Mount some of them with foam dots for dimension. The tiny flowers were die cut from the same paper as the butterflies.

The Floral Wreath set contains a bunch of different flower dies. Die cut them from patterned paper and layer them to create interesting looking flowers. The banner was die cut with the same set and I used Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers for my sentiments.

For more dimension, you can give the flowers and leaves some shape before gluing them to the background. Most of the flowers were adhered with foam dots. I also added cream pearls here and there.

You might be able to see the dimension of the wall-hanging little better on this photo. This would make a great gift for someone, especially if you use a photo in the frame instead.

Thank you for looking!!

Happy Crafting!
