Sizzix Inspiration | Monday Care Basket by Aida Haron

Hello everyone ! This is Aida and I am back with a Sizzix Inspiration post. Mondays are tough and this Care Basket could be given to a co-worker, your children's teacher or just anyone whom you think might need some cheering up. I've filled it with crispy, coconut flavored rolled biscuits we call Love Letters, a popular festive snack here in Singapore. To give the basket a recycle twist, carton boxes were cut up into small pieces, then die-cut using the Lori Whitlock L Bigz Basket. A quick coat of whitewash using Distress Stains Picket Fence and Squeezed Lemonade gave it a rustic look, all really easy to do. You could get the kids to help!

Here are the pieces after die-cutting. Don't worry about not knowing how many pieces you need or how to assemble as the instructions are printed on the inside of the packaging.

To make this small card to go with the basket, I used the Alterations XL Bigz Block Talk Capital to die-cut the gold foil card stock into the word Monday. Lightly rub Distress Ink Gathered Twigs and splatter the card with white acrylic paint for more dimension.

For the flowers, I started by stamping 2-ply kitchen paper towels with Staz On ink, and then randomly spritzed the Distress Sprays Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar. Dry the kitchen towels with a heat tool, then die-cut using the Alterations Bigz Tattered Floral.

I've used 4 die-cut layers of 2-ply paper towels, stacked on top of each other and the center held together with a brad. Gently peel the layers and fluff the flower up. This idea is not new, you can find it on You Tube videos and I love how it's a great way to re-cycle those paper towels you've used to catch or wipe away the paint and sprays on your craft table.
