Hi everyone! It's Laura here with some Sizzix inspiration for a girly camera card that's pretty in pink! I just love Jen Long's new 1950's collection of dies, so I decided to use the Bigz XL Retro Camera die to make a feminine, pretty camera card.
I recently had the privilege of hearing Jen Long, the designer, speak, and she said that she didn't want this set of dies just to be used just for the 1950's, and that the dies can be applied to modern times too. So that's just what I did!
For my camera card, I decided to use some pretty pink, black, and white papers from Authentique's 'Classique: Pretty' Collection. This set is the perfect combination of light and feminine pink flowers and classic black and white patterns that I knew would work perfectly to create a girly camera card.
To make this card, I picked out my favorite patterns and colors from the Pretty Collection set. Then, I made a Sizzix sandwich so that I could die cut my paper choices. To make the sandwich, I started with one extended cutting pad, then the camera die, then my paper choices that I cut to fit the die, and then the top cutting pad. I put the whole sandwich into to the Big Shot, and rolled it through by turning the handle. In less than a minute I had all my pieces cut and ready to go!
When making this card, don't throw any scraps away. There are some very small pieces, and you don't want to lose any of them. First, decide which piece that you want as the base of your card, then fold it in half on the fold line. After that, just start layering and gluing all of the small camera pieces until it looks the way that you would like it.
I also used some of the Authentique stickers to layer for some added color and pattern. The thin blue and white striped piece, the confetti strip at the top right of the camera, the pink lace, and the words are all stickers from the Classique: Pretty collection!
I love this cute card, and can't wait to give it to someone! I hope this has inspired you to use a die in a new and different way.
