Sizzix Inspiration | Recipe Box, Tea Bags and Fortune Cookies by Mou Saha

Hi everyone, Mou here with today's Sizzix Inspiration and it's all about creating gifts using the newest dies from the Where Women Cook collection by Jo Packham.

Here are the steps to create these little gifts.

Lay a Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform and the Recipe Box die blade side up. Lay a piece of kraft cardstock on the die and another Cutting Pad on top and run the sandwich through the Big Shot machine. The Magnetic Platform holds the die in place for a precise cut. Cut the top decorative flap and recipe cards using the same sandwich as mentioned above. Repeat as many times as you need to make the recipe card set.

Die cut the Tea Bag and Accessories as well as Fortune Cookies following the same sandwich technique as above.

For a fun mixed media look, color the outer surfaces of the kraft cardstock die cuts with metallic gold acrylic paint. Let dry. You could also start with metallic or glittered cardstock for a festive look.

With blending tool apply Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the recipe cards to accentuate the lines for writing.

Cut out birds on branches from the patterned paper with scissors. Color the cut outs with Distress Markers.

Tie the tea cup and spoon accessories to tea bags.

Assemble the die cuts to make the Recipe Box (following this PDF), the Tea Bag holder (following this PDF) and the Fortune Cookies (following this PDF).

Attach the decorative flap to the Recipe Box and embellish by attaching a bird on branch cut out. Attach a piece of lace near the bottom of the box. Fill the Recipe Box with the recipe cards.

Attach the other bird on branch cut out to the tea bag holder.

On a strip of cardstock, write a sentiment and insert partly into the fortune cookie.
