Hello, Leica here.
I had a lot of fun working with these adorable cookie jars Sizzix Bigz Die Cookie Jar. I think they would make adorable covers for a cookie recipe book! When I was creating these little cookie jars, I found I could make them come to life more by adding ink and "faux stitching" lines where the lids should be. It gave them a little more dimension. I also adhered 3D Foam Squares behind the labels to make them pop more. The labels are a great way to personalize the jars even more. I love that the jar label die gives you two different choices to choose from. Sizzix Bigz Die w/Bonus Textured Impressions - Jar Labels . This set comes with textured impressions, which is fantastic to give a little more detail to the labels. I decided to just use patterned paper for my labels so I didn't emboss them, I thought it might be too busy.
When cutting this Bigz die in the Big Shot all you need is a pair of Standard Cutting Pads. Make a sandwich with your die and paper between the cutting pads and roll them through your Sizzix Big Shot machine.
To embellish these jars I die cut the Stephanie Ackerman Sizzix Originals die Phrase, Love #3 and the letters for Sugar from the Decorative Strip Alphabet Alphabetical by Tim Holtz. Originals dies are cut just like Bigz. With Decorative Strips you'll want to use the Extended Multipurpose Platform and Decorative Strip Cutting Pads. To die cut, open the platform to Tab 1, place one cutting pad on top, your die with the cutting side facing up, you material and then the other cutting pad. So that you don't waste paper cutting the whole alphabet when you only need certain letters, you can trim the paper you're going to use to little squares or rectangles that are just a little larger than the letters.
Thanks for looking!
