Hi everyone, Jan here with today's Sizzix inspiration. I have a card for you today, featuring a Tim Holtz Framelits Die set with matching stamps, called Love You. I've also used the Tim Holtz Celebration Script Words Thinlits set and Dotted Bullseye Embossing Folder.
I've been using foil cardstock a lot lately with my Thinlits word dies, they cut out so nice and crisp, and because of the shine, stand out a bit more on my projects. My Sizzix sandwich in my Big Shot machine, when using these Thinlits dies or all intricate dies was; Magnetic Platform, Precision Base Plate, cardstock, Thinlits die (cutting side down) and then a Standard Cutting Pad.
Instead of stamping my images on regular paper or cardstock, I stamped the floral stamp on patterned vellum with clear embossing ink, then embossed with a light blue powder. After my image was stamped, I used the corresponding Framelits and die-cut it out, using the same Sizzix sandwich used for my words. I stamped and cut out about 4 or 5 of these. The bird was stamped on foil cardstock, embossed with brown embossing powder, and then also die-cut out with the corresponding Framelits die.
After preparing my matted card base, I die-cut a square frame and decorative oval from this Prima Enchanted Framelits die set using again, the Sizzix sandwich for Framelits. The square frame was embossed using the Tim Holtz Dotted Bullseye embossing folder, then inked on the edges. The Sizzix Sandwich for embossing folders is; Multipurpose Platform opened to tab 2, followed by a Cutting Pad, then the embossing folder with paper inside, and topped off with a second Cutting Pad. Run this through your Big Shot machine. The oval was also inked along the edges. These were pop dotted onto my card base, then my die-cut words were adhered.
I adhered ribbon to my card before adhering the stamped and die-cut vellum floral pieces and stamped foil bird. I like the die-cut vellum floral pieces, they have a nice light feeling to them.
Hope you enjoyed my card inspiration!
