Hey there! Genevive here to share with you a fun Sizzix Tutorial project I made for my boys --- an altered mailbox that will serve multiple purposes: a room decor, a special mailbox where they will find their Christmas presents (yes, their presents are small enough to fit in this box because they no longer want big toys -- they want sunglasses! Not babies anymore *insert tears here*) and after the holidays, this mailbox will still serve them for many years because I will keep on giving them surprise notes and little presents.
If this was white, I could have used Christmas colors without thinking. But I love that it's blue coz it challenged my creativity and I came up with something that's going to be useful the whole year round =)
I started by debossing phrases from the ShadowPress Expedition Set with my sandwich: Extended Multipurpose Platform at tab 1 + Cutting Pad + the folders with white cardstock in between and another + Cutting Pad.
Here's the debossed cardstock. I chose "here and now" and "good life" because I wanted to remind the boys that in order for life to be good, it should be lived in the now, that it's not all money and what they have, but it's in every moment they spend with their loved ones.
Then to highlight the words, I inked it with Scattered Straw and Evergreen Bough Distress Inks.
I then adhered the phrases to the mailbox along with paper cut-outs, die cuts and stickers.
You can see that I also added the Bigz Bicycle. This die is one of my favourites because it helps me give my projects for the boys look more boyish. And they both love biking so it's perfect!
Now, I need to go find those gifts to put in the mailbox! :)
