Hi! Jeanne Streiff here today with a fun Sizzix Tutorial card project!
For this card, I used using a Sizzix Bigz die from Doodlebug Designs and Sizzix Thinlits dies from Stephanie Barnard and Tim Holtz Alterations collections! Here are the easy Sizzix die cut sandwiches:
I used paint on white cardstock to create the texture on the tree before die cutting with Bigz Tree w/ Flower Heart & Leaves.
The cloud dies are from the Thinlits Cloud, Flower, Rain & Umbrella set.
Next I cut out some green panels (these are included in the Framelits Basic Step-Ups Card set) from green cardstock.
I started the basic card assembly by adding the green panels to the folded areas, my tree, clouds and some cute little bush shapes from the Bigz Tree w/ Flower Heart & Leaves die.
I used Precision Base Plate along with the new Thinlits Tiny Tattered Florals w/Quilling Tool - you read that right! This new flower die set comes with a Quilling tool which makes it super easy to roll up the little flowers. Just die cut, pop it out of the die with the Sizzix Die Brush & Foam Pad by rolling over the back of the die. Al those little bits pop right out. No more poking! You can also see my pretty Mint Cutting Pad. Love these new colored pads!
From the Sizzix site about the Precision Base Plate:
Constructed of high-quality annealed steel, the Base Plate allows for precise die-cutting of intricate Sizzix Thinlits dies in the BIGkick, Big Shot and Vagabond machines. With the Base Plate, you can cut through many different materials, including burlap, craft plastic, craft metal, fabric, aluminum, canvas, lightweight suede and thin cork. The Precision Base Plate allows most intricate Thinlits dies to be cut in a single pass through the machine.
Combine the Multipurpose Platform or the Essentials Platform with the Extended Adapter or the Solo Platform & Shim with the Solo Adapter or the Magnetic Platform with the Precision Base Plate (on the bottom of the die) and a Cutting Pad (on top of the die) and roll through the BIGkick, Big Shot and Vagabond machines to die-cut. The diagrams on the Platforms offer easy guidelines about how to make the perfect Sizzix sandwich.
I finished up my card by adding the leaves, flowers and a sentiment from the Thinlits Celebration Words set in white.
