Sizzix Tutorial | Captured My Heart Valentine Card by Michelle Stewart

Love is in the air! Can you feel it? Michelle here from Michelle's Party Plan-It sharing a Sizzix "You have captured my Heart" Valentine Card I made with the Retro Camera Card Bigz Die by Jen Long, Love Thinlits by Rachel Bright and the Sizzix Originals Love #3 Die by Stephanie Ackerman.

For this project you will need the Sizzix Big Shot, Extended Cutting Pads, Standard Cutting Pads, Extended Premium Crease Pad and Magnetic Platform.

Start by making a 'Sandwich" with the Extended Cutting Pad, Retro Camera Card Die, four sheets of coordinating paper or cardstock, and the Extended Crease Pad and pass it through the Big Shot to get three sets of the die cuts. I used teal glitter card stock, pink glitter cardstock, black cardstock, and silver cardstock for my cards. Since I planned on making several of these Valentines for my kids to give to their grandparents, this was a huge time saver! I now had enough die cuts to make 4 similar cards.

Next, pick which die cuts you would like for your card. I started with a teal card, with pink, silver and black accents for my first card.

For additional dimension and to tie in the Valentine theme, make a sandwich using the heart Thinlits from the Love set and Magnetic Platform and two Standard Cutting Pads.  The sandwich consists of the Magnetic Platform, a Cutting Pad, the Camera panel die cut, Heart Thinlits and an second Cutting Pad.  Next, pass it through the Big Shot.  Pop out the mini hearts from the Thinlits and save three for your card. The remaining pink mini hearts make great confetti to include in your envelope!

Using the Phrase, Love #3 Original Die, pink and black cardstock, create a sandwich using two Standard Cutting Pads and pass it through the Big Shot.

Now you will have all the elements needed to assemble your card.  Next, adhere the die cuts to your card starting with the heart panel, then the large lens circle, lense, three mini hearts and accent pieces.

Lastly adhere the Love die cut and two larger hearts.

Add "You have CAPTURED my Heart!" to the inside of the card and additional elements if desired. I chose to print my sentiment for presentation purposes.  But if you have great penmanship, handwritten cards are the best!

And that's it! A sweet little card to share with your Valentine (also great for photography lovers)!

Happy Crafting!
