Sizzix Tutorial | Creativity Tag by Mou Saha

Hi everyone, Mou here with today’s Sizzix tutorial!

Sizzix Tutorial | Creativity Tag by Mou Saha

Tags are fun to make and a great way to use up scraps of paper, fabric, trims, etc. from your stash. I made the above tag using scraps and my Sizzix die-cutting system. Let me show you how.

Mount butterfly stamp from  the Limitations set to acrylic block and ink it up with Jet Black Archival Ink pad. Lay the cardstock on the smooth side of Stamper's Secret Weapon and stamp the butterfly. The Stamper's Secret Weapon helps create a precise impression by providing extra cushioning for cling mount stamps. Repeat with the star border and sentiment stamps from the same set.

Lay a Standard Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform. Place the stamped images on the  Standard Cutting Pad. Lay the butterfly, star border and sentiments dies from the Limitations set blade side down on the matching stamped images and cover with a second Standard Cutting Pad. Pass the whole sandwich through the Sizzix Big Shot Machine to die cut the stamped images. The Magnetic Platform holds the dies in place allowing the stamped images to be die cut neatly.

Lay a Standard Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform. Place the biggest tag die from the Tag collection set blade side up on the Standard Cutting Pad and patterned paper on the die and cover with the other Standard Cutting Pad. Pass the whole sandwich through the Sizzix Big Shot Machine to die cut the tag.

Pick out some fabric from your stash. Snip the top end and pull the fabric toward yourself to create a fraying edge.

Attach the fabric strip near the bottom part of the tag with adhesive. Place the tag on the rough side of the Stamper's Secret Weapon. Poke holes along the edges of the fabric for some decorative stitching. The rough side of Stamper's Secret Weapon doubles as a piercing mat making it easier to add hand-stitching to your projects.

Add some colors to the tag with Stamper's Big Brush pen.

Attach some decorative trims and thread to add colors and textures to the tag. Assemble the stamped die-cut elements on the tag as shown.

Here's a close up of the tag. Finish by tying some paper twine to the tag.

Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial and would play with your scrap stash to make some fun tags.
